Digital Modeller Exterior Design

Our multicultural team of designers and digital experts has delivered influential concepts such as Compact Cruiser, AYGO X Prologue, C‑HR Prologue, Corolla Concept, and IMV Origin. Surface quality, proportion, and emotional impact are at the heart of everything we do.
At Toyota ED², digital modelling is a creative discipline. We are now seeking a Digital Modeller (Alias) to play a key role in elevating exterior surface quality and design intent across advanced projects.
Your role
Working in close partnership with exterior designers, you will act as an advanced design‑focused digital modeller, translating sketch intent into expressive, high‑quality digital surfaces. Your expertise will directly influence proportion, tension, and surface emotion at concept and advanced design stages.
You will:
- Develop expressive digital models for advanced and experimental exterior design projects
- Translate 2D sketches into high‑quality Alias NURBS and SubD
- Refine and control surface quality and 3D data to the highest design standards
- Actively support designers in pushing form, proportion, and design intent
- Produce visual content for design reviews and presentations
(real‑time visuals, renderings, animations) - Contribute to the evolution of new digital tools, workflows, and techniques
- Play a key role in maintaining and raising digital surface excellence within the studio
What you bring
- Degree in Industrial Design, Automotive Design, or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Digital Modeller within an automotive design studio
- Strong design sensibility with a deep understanding of form, proportion, balance, and surface emotion
- Advanced mastery of Alias, with a design‑driven approach to NURBS and SubD (Blender experience is a plus)
- Excellent volume and surface understanding, delivering high‑quality digital models
- Solid knowledge of the full digital modelling process, including data preparation for physical models
- Skills in rendering and animation to support design storytelling
- High attention to detail and ability to perform under tight design deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously at a high quality level
- Collaborative mindset, curiosity, and continuous desire to refine digital craft
- Fluent English (working language)
