Seeking Advanced exterior Car Designer
Location: Sophia Antipolis, France
Contract: Initially 12 months Start: September 2026

At Toyota European Development Design studio (ED²) – our advanced design studio on the French Riviera – we imagine the future of Toyota and Lexus. Our multicultural team (+30 creatives, 8 nationalities) has brought to life bold concepts like the Compact Cruiser (2021), AYGO-X (2021), C-HR (2024), Corolla Concept (2025) and IMV Origin (2025).
Now, we’re looking to add to our Exterior Design Team.

Your mission
As part of our Exterior Design team, you’ll collaborate to create striking, high quality Exterior Designs.
Your responsibilities:
Ideation & creativity
- Create emotional and high impact future exterior vehicle concepts and storytelling that align with the Toyota/Lexus Brand DNA.
- Deliver original and innovative designs that challenge the status quo.
- Integrate future customer needs and creative & social trend analysis.
- Comfortable to work on a wide variety of projects from conceptual to nearly do-able.
3D/Model development
- Build you own initial fast 3D volume studies and visualise.
- Work hands-on with Digital/Physical modellers to refine and develop design intent through proportion, architecture, surface and details.
- Integrate package and feasibility aspects whilst maintaining design intention.
Project Ownership
- Confidently present, communicate and defend your vision.
- Manager project progress and provide quality feedback.
- Bring concepts from early sketches all the way to full-size model development.
- Be highly self-motivated, curious and adaptable.
Your Profile
You are a designer who blends exceptional creativity, technical knowledge and automotive passion.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree in Transportation or industrial Design
- Between 1 to 5 years’ experience as an Exterior Designer in an automotive studio
- Strong understanding of Automotive design principles and packaging fundamentals
- High proficiency in sketching, Photoshop, Blender, alias subD and visualization software
- Strong communication skills
- Visionary creative instincts with the ability to think beyond stereotypes
- Proven team spirit and ability to inspire others
- Fluency in English
