The theme of the second collaboration competition has been launched: Every little bit counts

Calling on all students: it’s time! The new Toyota Logistic Design Competition is now open. Organised by Toyota Material Handling Europe Design Center in conjunction with Toyota Motor Europe, Toyota Europe Design Development (ED²) and KINTO Europe.  

A little reminder of this year’s challenge: “Every little bit counts. Are you ready to do your bit?”

Student designers and recent graduates are invited to look ahead, to reimagine SUSTAINABLE DESIGN over the next 20 years: how to overcome the challenges logistics and supply chain are facing currently, and what trends do they expect to redraw existing conventions in society at large. 

We need to solve challenges one by one and tackle little bits of the problem at a time, by making and creating eco-friendly logistic and mobility solutions.

TMHE、ED²、KINTO ヨーロッパは、トヨタ・ロジスティック・デザイン・コンペティションの2024年版を発表しました。

ED²と TMHEとで2回目になるこのコラボレーションコンペティションのテーマは「Every little bit counts」です。 新しいトヨタロジスティックデザインコンペティションが始まりました。今年のお題についてを説明しますと、「すべての小さなステップが大切です。やる準備はできていますか?」がテーマで 学生デザイナーと最近の卒業生は、先を見据え、今後20年間で持続可能なデザインをするのが一般的になっていますが、物流とサプライチェーンが現在直面している課題をどのように克服するか、そして社会全体の既存の慣習を塗り替えるロジスティクスとはどんなものになるかを考えるのがテーマの焦点です。

  私たちは、環境に優しい物流とモビリティのソリューションを作り、創造することで、課題を1つずつ解決し、少しずつ問題に取り組む必要があります。

Toyota Logistic Design Competition returns in 2024. Student designers will be invited to look ahead, to reimagine SUSTAINABLE DESIGN over the next 20 years: how to overcome the challenges logistics and supply chain are facing currently, and what trends do they expect to redraw existing conventions in society at large

“It is again with great pleasure that we take part in the organisation of this design competition, alongside Toyota Material Handling Europe and KINTO, as a new partner,” adds Laurent Bouzige, Chief Designer Strategy & Mobility at ED²,

Magnus Oliveira Andersson, Head of Design at Toyota Material Handling Europe illustrates: “Believing that designers have a duty toward future generations, we launched this 6th edition to open a dialogue with our students for them to make and create eco-friendly logistic and mobility solutions.”

“We would like to place this edition under the umbrella of circular economy, namely how the design of a logistics solution through a systemic approach can enable a drastic reduction of our carbon footprint throughout our value chain. MAAS mobility as a service will also be in the spotlight during this edition, as we want students to think about a mobility ecosystem that meets the many challenges of the coming years!

The last edition was an edifying experience for us: the students brought us relevant, sustainable and often humorous solutions! I am certain that this new edition will let us to discover the talents of tomorrow that will offer us their disruptive vision for a desirable future.”

未来デザイン2040 トヨタ ロジスティック デザイン コンペティションが 2024 年に向けて発表されました。デザイナーの卵は、今後20年間でサステナブルなデザインを取り入れていかなければなりません。そのような中物流とサプライチェーンが現在直面している課題をどのように克服するか、そして社会全体の既存の慣習を塗り替えるデザインが出てくることを期待しています。

ED²のチーフデザイナー、ストラテジー&モビリティ担当チーフデザイナー、ローラン・ブジジュは「トヨタ・マテリアルハンドリング・ヨーロッパとKINTOとともに、このデザインコンペティションの開催に新たなパートナーとして参加できることを改めて大変うれしく思います」と言及しました。 トヨタ・マテリアルハンドリング・ヨーロッパのデザイン責任者であるマグナス・オリベイラ・アンダーソン氏は、「デザイナーには未来の世代に対する義務があると信じて、環境に優しい物流とモビリティのソリューションを作り、創造するために学生との対話を開くために、このデザインコンペ第6版を立ち上げました」と述べています。

「私たちは、このコンペをサーキュラーエコノミー（循環型社会）の傘下に置きたいと考えています。つまり、体系的なアプローチによる物流ソリューションの設計により、バリューチェーン全体で二酸化炭素排出量を大幅に削減する方法です。今回の開催では、MAASモビリティ・アズ・ア・サービスにもスポットライトを当て、今後数年間の多くの課題に対応するモビリティエコシステムについて学生に考えてもらいたいと考えています。 前回は、学生たちが適切で、持続可能で、しばしばユーモラスな解決策をもたらしてくれました。この最新コンペでは、望ましい未来への破壊的なビジョンを私たちに提供してくれる明日の才能を発掘することができると確信しています。」
